Best Haircut EVER!!

So as many of you know by now, I do hair. I love it when someone new comes to me and they have been having trouble with something (color, cut...whatever) and I am able to solve it. I would say that the #1 thing people tell me about is a bad haircut (although I think it is far more tramatizing to have a botched hair color! Different story for a different day...). There are sooo many ways a person's haircut can be totally screwed up! Cut too much, not enough, too many layers, too few, awful bangs, etc., etc. The list goes on....
I have my own problem with hair cuts. I can't seem to find even 1 stinking hairstylist that will cut my layers how I want them. Oh sure, they stand there and nod their head up and down while you explain to them what you are looking for, but just as soon as those scissors get into their hands, your previous requests shoot right out the window! Pretty soon you are sitting there with the exact opposite of what you wanted and she is holding out her hand for payment! And was it cheap?? H to the NO!! You feel like you just paid $30-$40 bucks to be ignored and abused. And you pay her, because honestly, how many people are ballsy enough to refuse to pay for a bad haircut?? Not me....
Okay...so this is (was!) my problem with haircuts. I really like blended layers so that when I curl my hair they are apparent, but when I straighten it, I still have the bulk of my hair throughout and it pretty much is really smooth. To do this, my hairstylist must hold my hair straight up and just wack it off straight (this is not making sense, but just nod your head....thanks. It really is simple to do...) I cannot get a hairstylist to do this. They always end up holding the hair out at an angle (not straight up) and then cutting it at an angle (aka-removing bulk aka-thinning my precious locks!!!) and it creates tons of wispy layers that just look fizzled even before I leave the salon! I hate it!
Well....it had been about 2-1/2 months since my last cut and I was starting to feel the need for a trim. However, I put my foot down and decided that I wasn't getting ripped off for a nasty haircut. This is when the plan emerged....
Guilt trip one of my family members into cutting my hair!!! GENIUS!!! After I threw around the sad face and puppy dog eyes, my big sis Katie caved in and said that she would do it!
And can I just mention what a good job that she did? Because she wasn't secretly thinking of her previous training (she doesn't have any...) I could tell her how I wanted my hair cut and she did exactly what I asked!! It is the best haircut I have had in about 4 years!!! Blended, smooth, layered and still long! I love it!
And now, all I need to do is teach her how to do a retouch on my foil highlights and I can finally have the hair I always wanted! Ha ha! Hope she falls for this little plan!

I'm experiencing changes....

Birth control is making my hair curly....

And I am not talking like a little subtle wave.....we are talking full on curly. In school I learned about the changes that can happen to hair because of hormones, but I never quite thought it would happen to such an extent!

Did I happen to mention that I love it? I moaned and complained for a few months everytime I tried to straighten my hair but I have adjusted and now I think it is great!

Thank you funny fake hormones in the form of a daily pill!

I wonder what will happen to my hair when I am pregnant someday?? Weird...
